Disip the Gazzman Couleur
Disip is a Kompa band co-founded on April 4, 2010 by Nu Look former lead singer Gazzman Pierre and Gabriel Laporte, who is lead guitar player and maestro of the new group. Gazzman Pierre founded Disip after troubles moving forward with his band Nu-Look. Nu-Look was founded on December 4, 2000, and became the hottest band in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI) for almost a decade. After nine years of hard work with Nu-Look, Gazzman went to Haiti on a tour sponsored by a major telecommunication company named Digicel. The tour started on December 17, 2009, and ended January 6, 2010. Upon Gazzman's arrival in Miami, he called his business partner and band-mate, Mr. Arly Larivierre, to inform him of his sudden resignation as member of Nu-Look. This soon made headlines in the Haitian Music Industry.
According to a lot of Kompa's followers, Gazzman did not have a plan in place, only ideas, when he left the band. When the earthquake hit the homeland of Haiti on January 12, 2010, the Haitian Music Industry got hit big time again and completely stopped during that tragic momnet. Gazzman Pierre and his friend Gabriel Laporte were on a mission. Their mission was to put the band together and be ready for the HMI rebound. Within three months the name "Disip" started to circulate. A week later, Gazzman made it official. The name of the new band is "Disip the Gazzman Couleur". After days of planning for the grand premiere, Disip the Gazzman Couleur entered the record book of the HMI. On April 4 at Club Cafe Iguana in Pembroke Pines, Florida, the group "Zenglan" and another Kompa band "Start" were playing for about two hours. Then the moment all the fans and media were impatiently waiting for finally arrived. "Disip the Gazzman Couleur" came to the stage where an estimated 3500-4000 fans were willing to be part of history in the making with Gazzman and his new band.
"Disip the Gazzman Couleur" is a new band, but all the members are not new faces. Most of them are well known in the HMI and are very professional with many years of experience in the business and have been with different other Haitians music groups. But all come together in the HMI with the goal to be a better band and to please their fans around the world.
The grand premiere of "Disip the Gazzman Couleur" was a successful event in Miami. Now the rest of the world are waiting to share their moment with the band.
